Guide to Scholarly Resources for the Study of Central Asia

The Guide to Scholarly Resources for the Study of Central Asia will provide comprehensive information about resources for Central Asian studies world-wide. It is currently being compiled and will be published -- in 2001, as we anticipate -- in the form of a book in the series Research Publications of the Harvard Central Asia Forum. Much of the key data will also be available through this website. This project is being supported by International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX), and has had support also from the Ford Foundation and the U.S. Dept. of Education. Core participants in the project include: Olga Bronnikova (St. Petersburg), Julie Fairbanks (Cambridge, Mass.), Valery Germanov (Tashkent), Bakhytnur Otarbaeva (Almati), Nabi Rakhimov (Dushanbe), Oksana Solov'eva (St. Petersburg), and John Schoeberlein (Cambridge, Mass.).

Included in the Guide to Scholarly Resources will be information on:

Much of the preliminary data for this project is being posted to «Central Eurasian Studies World Wide». This is meant to allow access to this information as early as possible, and importantly, to solicit key information which will enable us to gather as comprehensive information as possible. We strongly urge you to examine the lists of institutions posted here, for example, and submit to us names (and addresses) of institutions which are missing. We will then contact them for full information. When the Guide is complete, the full information will published in book form, while the comprehensive lists of institutions (and their contact information), as well as some of the other key data, will be available through «Central Eurasian Studies World Wide».
